Elton Church of England Primary school is situated located on the main street of the village next to the All Saints Church.
The school is located in a well maintained Victorian building which dates back to 1882. It houses two classrooms for the infants and juniors, a servery kitchen and an office. The school also has two hard surface playgrounds with a small sheltered outdoor area.
The school has approximately thirty pupils on its roll at any one time from Elton and surrounding parishes.
The majority of pupils transfer to Highfields School in Matlock, or Lady Manners in Bakewell after completing their time at Elton School.
Elton Primary School achieved an 'excellent' report in its Ofsted Inspection of April 2007.
